Art is a visual experience that can evoke an emotional response. Entertainment is visual, auditory and sometimes even olfactory, which evokes emotional responses.

Art makes you think; so when a movie is really deep and philosophical and actually has a moral or meaning (like Shawn of the Dead), you think about that and re-evaluate your own life. When you hear a song that makes you think about something you normally don't think about, that's art. When you see a painting that makes you stop and empathize with what the artist was trying to say, that's art.
Entertainment dumbs a person. Entertainment is Britney Spears eating a whole pie on E!. Entertainment is seeing how fat celebrities get. Entertainment is physical, like sports or games. Entertainment can make you stronger, but more stupid (or "stupider" for those who appreciate seeing Britney Spears eating a whole pie).
For me, a fine combination of art and entertainment would be a song that makes fun of Kevin Federline for marrying that fat whore, and talks about the sociological and political aspects of the pie itself.

Entertainment is in a way baby of art.
Art as a word gives shelter to numerous things.It is lie umbrella or home where different(painting, poetry, entrainment etc) dwells.

Art can only be recognized by a person who knows about it...In other words it can be defined as ABSTRACT..Entertainment is amusing people killing their boredom...Anybody can enjoy entertainment...
