No maintenance is required - it was just done. The alert wasn't removed when maintenance was done and I don't want to take it back to the dealer to be charged more $. Is there a switch in the engine or under the dash?

I have a 2002 CR-V (I'd imagine that your 2003 model would be the same.) From the owners manual:

1. Turn off engine.

2. Press and hold the (odometer) select/reset button in the instrument panel, then turn the ignition switch ON (II).

3. Hold the button until the indicator resets (approximately ten seconds).

Hope that helps you!

Find out where the Trip Meter reset button is. Should be right where the gauges are. Hold that button in while you turn your key in the ignition to the "ON" postion, but do not start it. Wait with the Trip meter reset button held in and the key in the ON postion for about 15 seconds or until you see the light blink off. Then switch the car off. that should be it.

If you disconnect the battery, make sure that you have any radio security codes you might need FIRST, otherwise that's just going to be another thing for which you'll need to see the dealer.

No, there is a tool or a procedure to reset the light. Perhaps someone in this forum will know which.

disconect the battery for a minute or take it to a parts store like murrays or auto zone and they will rent you a tool to do the job
