Well, a lot of songs have this effect on me actually. Cuz im a cry baby. lol. But i think the one that always does it for me it 'Kissing You' by Des'ree off the Shakespeares Romeo & Juliet soundtrack (the one with Leo DiCaprio). It's such a eerily beautiful song and it reminds me of my relationshp everytime i hear it, cuz i can really relate to the lyrics......
Pride can stand a thousand trials
The strong will never fall
But watching stars without you, my soul cried
Heaving heart is full of pain
Oh, oh, the aching
Cause, I'm kissing you oh
I'm kissing you oh
Touch me deep, pure and true,
give to me forever
Cause, I'm kissing you
Oh, I'm kissing you, oh
Where are you now?
Where are you now?
Cause, I'm kissing you
I'm kissing you, oh
Okay...i gotta go get some tissue!!!!!!!!!

Solsbury Hill by Peter Gabriel.
There's a personality profile called Meyers Briggs that has 4 different categories in which people can be either one way or another - like Introvert vs. Extrovet. You'd think people would fall evenly into each category - but they don't. I belong to the ENTJ category which is the least populated category.
Becaus there are so few ENTJs they don't know a lot of other people like themselves and that makes them feel alienated. So, if a song has some supernatural thing saying "Grab your things I've come to take you home" it speaks very strongly to an ENTJ's feeling of alienation from the majority of humanity.
The Meyer Briggs can take hours to administer but I've found you can pick the ENTJs out of a room in 30 seconds by asking people to raise their hands if Solsbury Hill makes you want to cry. Seriously, that works.

Let your mind start a journey through a strange, new world!
Leave all thoughts of the world you knew before!
Let your soul
Take you where you long to be!
Only then can you belong to me ...

How to save a life- The fray
A close friend passed away, I guess I'm harboring a lil guilt. I've just always felt like I could have done more.

"Live Like You Were Dying" by Tim McGraw
Hearing this song always gets me teary eyed because it was released the summer of 2004, when my husband was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Fortunately, he is a survivor but the duration of his operation and recovery was the toughest ordeal I've ever faced.

I have several that will do that to me. "I'll Be" by Reba McEntyre. It is definitely the words. My daughter danced with my husband, her Dad, to that song at her wedding. Sniff.
"Wings Beneath My Feet" by Bette Midler. My Mom loved that song so since she died I get really emotional every time I hear it. She once said it reminded her of ME. Sniff.
"Thank You for Being a Friend" by any artist. They played it at my friend, Joanie's funeral when she so died so horribly young from cancer. Sniff.
