Bearing in mind that planets and stars are made of gas and lumps of rock. Who in their right mind could possibly believe that anyone can read the stars and foretell ones destiny. What if there were no other planets?

I find it highly doubtful, as you said they're gas and rocks.

The horoscopes you read in the paper are generalized for a reason. Astrology is more than that horoscope, which is based on your sun sign. Astrology really incorporates all of the signs, all of the planets and the relationships between them all. If you get an actual astrological reading, you will see how accurate they actually are. They are individualized because there is a specific chart for the moment of your birth that is difficult to repeat.

One thing that astrology does not do is predict the future. The only thing about the future it can tell you is what influences will be in your life in the future. What actually happens is determined by the choices you make.

Horoscopes like other means of fortune telling and prediction, whether of someones personality or future, usually get it spot-on when they generalise to the point that they could be accurate for most anybody.

Man seems to like reassurance from outside of his/herself and, in an unpredictable world, such mumbo jumbo has appealed to many. I'm not saying it's fake, just that it seems so very unlikely to be possible. Especially when tons of the stars and planets that we can see out there could have died out millions of years ago, that we still seem 'them' because it takes light so long to get here. Would a baby born in outer space have a different astrological prediction/psychological makeup? Would it mean we could not get on with Aliens, as they wouldn't be part of our 12 sign types?

Think it all stems from the primitive times man has been through, like many early religions, some of which are with us today.

Not me but I had a friend who read it everymorning before school. Her subconscience tricked her into doing everything the horoscope said she was going to do so she convinced herself that horoscopes were real. The bus driver and I agreed with this. My horoscope is often wrong so I don't believe in that stuff.

I know that my horoscope is usually right. I don't ever really look into the future to see whats going to happen tomorrow but a lot of times I'll look at todays in the evening and it will flow with how my day went. Without those "planets and starts" we wouldn't want to be here. You have very closed minded thinking open up alittle.

the thing most people miss is that they are incredibly vague. I mean its almost like saying you're going to breathe today or at some point you will die.

I don't see why not though. Its all up to you whether you hold stock in it or not. Sometimes I do sometimes I don't. And I think that they're purpose isn't so much to see the future but to show you what might happen.

I'm fascinated by numerology. I strongly believe that numbers reflect certain aptitudes and character tendencies, as an integral part of the cosmic plan. Each letter has a numeric value that provides a related cosmic vibration. The sum of the numbers in your birth date and the sum of value derived from the letters in the name provide an interrelation of vibrations. These numbers show a great deal about character, purpose in life, what motivates, and where talents may lie.

I agree that there is no sense behind people being able to read stars.

Firstly Zodiac signs. there are only 12 for how many billions of people?

And how can each one be individual for each person? And how come so many people predict them differently?

But (there is always a but) they give hope to a lot of people. A reason to get up in the morning. So they are harmless but useful for some. But dont live your life by them!

i dont believe in horoscope.many people tend to act according to what is stated in there without being aware of it like when a horoscope says "today things dont go your way", people tends to believe it and withdraw themself from a task. Actually things dont go their way because after reading a horoscope and not a prediction from a horoscope.

People who are dissatisfied with their meaningless lives - thats who. Horoscopes are as factual as religion. I'd rather be stuck on the tube with someone reading their horoscopes though...
