i have a friend who has a equinox 2005. we cant seem to figure out if there is a place to add and check for trans.fluid( dex-3) i have looked it up and i know it shifts differently but i also know it still uses hydralic fluid. does anyone out there have any answers for me?

The dipstick is behind the front transmission mount. It is very short and hard to see. It also bolted in. The equinox also does not take dexron 3. It takes dexron Type IV only anything else will destroy it. Chevrolet Transmission Technician.

The trans does not have a dipstick. It does have a spot to add fluid. however I cant remember exactly where it is. The theory is if it is not leaking it is full and to keep you coming back to the dealer for service.

lots of people asking this Q lately..Are they making AT s without a place to check fluid...I only have old 1999 and 2006 cars that have dipsticks and fluid..

I HAVE NEW MUSTANG IT DOES NOT HAVE A TRANSMISSION DIPSTICK. THIS MAY BE THE CASE WITH YOUR EQUINOX.
