Who is going to pay for this grand government health care scheme, and why would anyone in their right mind want the United States Government to fix anything? After they have been taking Social Security from you (under penalty of law) since the 1940's and now they say they can't afford to even keep that going enough to pay out the citizens after another 10-20 years? You can open an IRA and do better than that!
Do you remember the government's response to Katrina? the Tsunami in Indonesia?
Who gets to pay for all of this and how will that be accomplished?
Our health care costs are already too high because we (the American's) pay higher drug prices for the free medicines that are given out in other countries!
Who gets to pay for it all?

The same way we pay these huge salaries to all these government officials that take us for all we are worth.

I don't like hospitals and I don't like doctors and I don't like insurance companies and I don't like pharmaceutical companies.
There are good reasons for this dislike.
It is time these people are taken down a notch or two.
I expect socialized medicine would do just that.

Ok here are some facts, the US is number 1 in the cost of heatlh care in the world, ours is more expensive then anyones. We rank 14th in quality of care. We already pay this cost in hidden "taxes" the CEO of General Motors has said that $1500 of every new car sold goes to the cost of providing health care to its employees and retiree's. This has got to be relivent to other industrys as well, this creates an uneven playing field in the global market and makes it hard for U.S. industrys to compete with countrys that have universal health care. This means jobs. The profit that the insurance company's alone make would be close to paying for this benefit. You have to remember that Universal Health Care is not free either. But it does ensure that everybody has access to affordable health care. At present there are 47 million people without access to afordable health care, this means that they do not receive the care needed until it becomes a major issue. The cost of ICU's and emegency rooms are much more then a trip to the Dr. for preventive health care and when they do recieve these services they cannot afford to pay guess who has to pay for them. More bankruptcys are caused by medical bills then any other cause. Contegious diesese when not treated properly will spread to others and while a cold or flu is not a big problem, such diesese's as TB, and aids are. All in all we do need a major overhaul of the medical care system in the U.S. whether it is Universal health care or not something needs to be done before the crisis gets so bad that it cannot be fixed. This only scratches the surface of the problems that a lack of affordable health care cost. I would hope that you would consider these things before you make a blanket statement or come up with a solution to the problem other then Universal Health Care. Remember this problem is only going to get worse. It isn't just going to go away.

you really have a poor perception of how the world operates.
we aren't paying higher healthcare because of meds given out to other countries.
we are paying higher healthcare costs because in the end, healthcare providers have to continue to satisfy stockholders.

and universal healthcare, does not tanslate to nationalized health providers, as mentioned above!
