i am working on my art appreciation and there is a painting that i have to cristisize and i also need the arts history so i need to know what evens where happening in 1974 to possibly determine what inspired the artist to paint this.-

I was born that year, but unless the artist is a relative of mine I doubt that counts.
The Godfather was the number one movie,
I dont know what the painting is so it is hard to help you out.

Evens? Did you mean 'events'? It's possible that the painting was NOT inspired by ANY events, but instead by something in the artists mind. If you had posted a link to the painting or referred to it in some way so that we had SOME idea of what it was, that would have been helpful.
