How much should a complete re-build cost? Should I get the cyclinders bored smooth if needed?

dont really no the answer to that question. just had to coment because I have the same engine. (actually its a 1978 cb750e but I think there are no real differences) I'd be interested to talk bikes since it looks like we own very similar motorcycles. message me if you are interested. do you see metal when you change your oil? (I did the last time.) I've heard its not uncommon with these engines and is not really something to worry about.

It depends on the mechanic that does it how much it will cost. In our area, it could cost a grand. I'd say yes, get the cylinders cleaned up.
