I noticed before my periods men tend to be so over friendly towards me before my menses? but the other ordinary days nothing happens.

It is not an instinct, but an odor. Many women have a certain musky odor about them, when they are ovulating. This goes back to primitive days, when the tribes needed more members for strength throughout the years. Women threw out a scent to attract males, and tell them that they were ready. This is much like animals throw out a scent when the female is in heat.
