Me, if someone *does* actually make contact with me (and I don't make it easy when I'm in the being alone mood), I tell 'em I'm hibernating 'cos I feel like it. But if you want something creative, tell 'em any of the following:
I have Ebola (or any other scary, highly infectious disease)
My dog ate my feet so I can't come out
I'm expecting a visit from the aliens
I'm fixing my computer (everyone will believe that - stupid things are always on the blink)
My astrologer told me someone close to me will die if I leave the house today
An axe-wielding madman is holding me hostage (may not work, 'cos then you'll have cops & stuff trying to get you to safety)
I have severe flatulence - do you really want to be around me right now?

If you're asking for excuses to hide away from the world, you've already got the reason....you need some time off the roundabout!

say you have some things you need to sort out. or alternatively, you could just mail everyone and say sorry i lost my phone, will call you when i get a new one ( gives you a few days!) as for work, you could just say you need a need to do an intensive driving course. this never ever fails as they think its a good idea, plus if you can already drive then the plan is also good, you just say you have only one point left on your licesnse

If your talking about getting time off work... the tried and tested 'my car's having problems' always works a treat for me.
Only problem is you rarely get more than 2 days out of it because they expect you to 'go to the garage' and get it fixed.

Your throwing up. Who wants to be around someone throwing up...
You need to be alone or your going to have a break down... That might work
