I don't think the 2 should be lumped together. Seems people don't get the answers they seek here because of this. I'm married & it would be nice to have a board I could go to without having to wade through all the junk that doesn't apply to me. I'm sure divorcees feel the same.

For instance, the people who are genuinely seeking advice about their unhappy marriages or pending divorces get slammed time and again by judgemental married folks who insist "it's them with the problem" or they're just not trying hard enough. Chances are, if someone is contemplating something as serious as divorce, they have tried and see no hope. Try walking in their shoes!

Similarly, you have the happily married asking serious questions, only to get smart-a$$ remarks from the many divorcees on this board who no longer believe in love/marriage.

Most of all, it's just sad to keep having to read all these men putting down single mothers & whining about having to pay child support for their own children.

So, with all that said... I really do think these topics would make more sense in separate categories. For awhile, it's actually entertaining to see the two groups clashing over almost every single issue, but now it's just getting old. It would be nice to go somewhere where I knew my questions had a place. Don't you agree?

P.S. If enough people feel the same way, I am planning to submit this question, with your answers, to Yahoo's customer service and perhaps one day we will actually see this change take place. Thanks for your help!

Putting "Marriage & Divorce" together makes it seem that these two topics go together naturally. But these are two completely different topics, and should be treated as two separate life experiences. I agree with the Asker that if I need marriage advice, the last thing I need to see is where to find the best divorce attorney. Hope Yahoo takes our suggestion!

You do have a point to some extent. WIth the divorce rate now over 50%, most marriages end in divorce, so the two subjects do go hand-in-hand.

Just because you separate the two, that doesn't stop angry divorcees from going to the "Marriage" section and bashing happy married people there. It's the internet and it's an open space so you have to personally filter out what you don't want to read.

The last thing we need is more governing and control being placed over open spaces online.

In my opinion I like it the way it is becasue if it was se-
perated then you would only have bragging on the marr-
iage side and bickering on the divorce side. The way it
is now you have the best and the worst at your fingertips.
Just because people say they are going to divorce, some
one that is married could give them advise on how not to
divorce and maybe the married couple could save a di-
vorce from happening., and for the other side if someone
who is married and wants to get a divorce but does not
and has no other choice but to get one then a divorced
person could help that person out: It's all about sharing
information that could help one another and any person
married or divorced may need help or opinions of others
at time.

I thought about the same issue...however... is nice to know that all people here (or most of them) are mature adults that have been there and done that, instead of having a bunch of kids saying non-sense.

If we leave marriage as a category on is own, we'll have gazzilopn kids asking stupid question about they 15 year bf wanting to get married....

If we live "divorce" alone then would it only apply to people getting a divorce? I'm single and dating and DEFINETLY do npt realte to all the youngster in that category, I already went though a divorce, so is not like I could hangout in that category.

I say what is fine the way it is because of the above reasons, maybe they should just have differnt discussion boards for different age spectrums.

Thank you for your interesting question.

Good luck

Mythology is reserved for the ancient stories that have been passed through every culture. It is folklore and the legends of ago. It's the stories that we don't know authors for or the history behind them. All we know is that they exist and continue to be studied and told. It's the stories in Norse, Greek, Roman, Egyptian, and other cultures of that era. They are all polytheistic in nature. There is a key element in these things. No one debates these being fact. People debate Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, and so on as being fact. They are religions based upon a path to peace or eternal life. They aren't things explaining everyday occurences like many of the mythological stories are. No one is still following the likes of Zeus and Anubis, but people still and forever will follow God.

I completely agree. It gets depressing reading all the posts about cheating spouses and marital problems. We need a place for all the happily married people.

I see this all the time, Marriage and Divorce issues within the same discussion groups. It doesn't bother me.

I think it would be a good idea to seperate them.

I totally agree with you. I think it's stupid to have them lumped together and would love it if they changed it.
