How do I keep my laptop from freezing?

I have a IBM Pentium III laptop and it will work for 30 minutes and then decides to freeze. I then have to just shut it off which makes it mad and these warnings about shutting it down incorrectly pop up but I cant help that because its frozen and I cant shut it down properly! I then get past all that to just have it load forever and then freeze during the loading and then FINALLY I get back to what I was doing to just have it freeze AGAIN! Does anybody have any suggestions before I drop kick it out the door? How do I keep my laptop from freezing? HELP!!!!

Do a disk defragment it will make it run faster
Do a disk clean up it will remove temporary files and old files and will make it run faster.
Get Ad-Aware Personal SE it is a free spy-ware scanner and will remove and spy-ware that is slowing do your system.

Delete Files you don't need.
Do a Virus Scan

that's a biggie for me, im continually telling my sister and mom to watch for the hard rigidity....... if your attempting to click on something together as the hard rigidity is being accessed, that's the biggest results of freezes in my experience. On any pc, there's a easy which will flash on and rancid, whilst that's on, the hard rigidity is being accessed by using the pc, attempt to enable it end till now clicking on the rest. So lets say you only opened the internet, enable it open till now proceeding and you will maximum possibly end the freezes..... additionally, i could get pissed off and start up hitting keys at random out of frustration, this only makes issues worse.

Sometime this also happened to me, but not with my Laptop. It happened with my computer when my Norton ready or expired. I don't know really know what happened. I had to do the same thing you did. Maybe install some security software. Hope you source your problem soon so you can enjoy your Laptop.
