R&B star Brandy could face charges of misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter over her role in a fatal car accident last month when she hit the back of another car when traffic slowed down on a California Highway. This had some unfortunate consequences, as the driver of the second vehicle died in hospital following the accident, which involved two other cars. If convicted of misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter, Brandy could face up to a one year in the Los Angeles County Jail and a $1,000 fine. What are your thoughts on this?

I personally feel she should not go to jail because it was an accident it could have happen to any of us. That is why they call them accidents. Now if she was drinking that is another story. Believe me she will not get off free because she will live with the guilt of killing someone. That is enough.

Dumb Idiot, speeding for no reason other then she can, and not even bothering to be watchful has led to some little kids mum and some man's wife dying. That women will never get to see her kid grow up, graduate, get a first job, get married or have kids. Her husband will never be able to fall asleep with his arms wrapped around her, to wake up with her lying next to him. If you ask me she is getting off easy. Meanwhile the headlines are blaring "R&B star Brandy in car accident", not "Wife, Mother, Dead for no good reason", i guess we all know which is more important to the american people.

I do not believe she will do any jail time - not because she's a celebrity, but because people rarely do for this charge. The law says one thing, but the people enforcing the law recognize that while it was unfortunate someone died, it was an accident - if it was due to reckless or negligent driving they would consider filing a more serious charge against her. 1 year in jail and a fine of $1,000 is the maximum penalty for misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter in CA - more than likely if they charge her, she will plea to a lesser charge and pay a fine, just like anyone else.

I believe she should not go to jail, she was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol and it was a freak accident, that is what's wrong with America people that do not commit crime on purpose serve the time for people that commit multiple crimes and get a slap on the wrist. Along with the lawsuit against her, there should be a cap on it. I understand that a life was taken but how many people truly sue non celebrities for that much for the same exact incident. Our legal system is corrupt and needs to get under control.

It was a tragic accident, but it wasn't Brandy's fault. Yes, she caused the initial accident when she rear-ended the vehicle, but it was unintentional. She has since apologized to the family and as long as they accept her apology, it should be more than enough. Now, what was she doing that caused the accident is really the question. If she was doing her make-up, talking on the cellphone, etc. She should be heavily fined, but no jail time.

I doubt she'll do any jail time, but she certainly needs to go through all the court proceedings. She seems like a nice person, a good mom...but that doesn't change the fact that she was driving recklessly. It's a sad situation and one that I'd feel bad about whether she's famous or not.

She should be prosecuted as anyone else would be. Seeing as how this was an accident, there will probably not be much jail time. I don't know if the family of the deceased has the option to drop charges in this instance, they may come to some agreement if that is case.

I understand accidents happen to innocent people, but if you were speeding at the time of the accident then you should be accountable for that person's death. I don't care if your a celebrity or a citizen. We should all be treated in the same legal system.

Let her go. Just b/c she's a celebrity doesn't mean that she shouldn't face the music like the rest of us peons. She killed a person, by driving recklessly, and she needs to pay for her actions. But, I think that her celebrity will get her out of it, she'll pay off the family of the person that she killed and she will do community service. She won't ever see the inside of a jail cell. Too bad. She needs to see what the real world is like and stop using her face to get what she wants.

only like I spoke back in one in each and every of the different categories, whether or no longer Brandy could bypass to penitentiary isn't for me to p.c.. i grew to become into no longer there nor do i understand the entire situations of the area. yet i understand that a youthful mom is lifeless, leaving youthful babies in the back of to morn her dying and Brandy's destiny can no longer replace that actuality. neither is spending time in penitentiary going to make those youthful infant's soreness anymore bearable. i think of each and every physique is caught up on the incorrect area of accident.

it wasnt really a big deal until the tabloids and media outlets found out about it. This happened months ago and we are hearing about it now, and NOW they decide she may be charged. it just seems tooooo coincidental that once it gets in the news, they decide to charge her. i think everyone should leave her alone, im sure she feels bad enough about what happened, wouldnt you??? i think the law enforcement should stop giving press releases about the situation, if it was any other normal person it wouldnt be splattered across headlines.
