My laptop has a 4000maH battery at 10.8 volts. This translates roughly to 44wH, yet I somehow manage to get 4.5 hours of battery life out of it.
That means my laptop consumes roughly 10wH. How is this possible? Here are the stats for the laptop:
15.4" wide-screen
1.66ghz Core Duo
1gb RAM
100gb HHD
DVD+/-RW/RAM drive
The Core Duo should be alone consuming more than 10wH...
How's this possible?

I am aware it drops power consumption when you are not doing much.
The Core Duo uses 35wH when at full capacity, and drops from there. However, even when downclocked to 950mhz, it should be consuming more than 10wH by itself.
As well, I do not let it go into stand-by mode when using it, so at most, all that shuts down when "idle" would be the hard drive and computer screen.
