Although it is possible to get pregnant while on your period it does not happen very often. Pregnancy occurs during ovulation and you usually ovulate 14 days after the first day of your period(that varys for every woman though) I would say if you are ttc now, now would be a good time since you said your period will start in a couple of weeks.

Yes you can, you are actually more likely to get pregnant about now. Like alot of girls out there I was never really informed about everything and what I did know was misinformation. I was naive and thought that you could only get pregnant on your period until I was 16 years old at which point My much more sexually educated 14 year old step sister informed me about everything. Thank God I wasn't sexually active then. I would suggest that you look up some information on the Internet and ask some trust worthy friends about sex and reproduction.
