my monitor is black and my pc is working. but my screen doesnt show any thing. what is the prob.

how can you tell that your pc is working OK ????
check your pc with a good monitor then you have good chances to find out the problem.

1 you hear some beeps when start pc ?
2 do you see the power led of the monitor is on ?
3 didn't you see any letter or even hypen on screen ?
4. did you check the power cable of the monitor ?
5. did you check the data cable of the monitor ?
6. didn't you change any brightness or contrass controls

Check the cable it mught be not connected properly.
Your Graphics Card might be burnt out which will have to be replaced. Try the monitor on another computer. This might or might not be a problem your UPC or power supply unit which is the box with a fan where the power from your outlet goes into your computer. It might be shorted some how. So try the reset switch if you have one.

It may be caused by low memory on your computer. This happened to me a while back. For the time being, you will have to reset the computer.
You will need to either clear out some programs and files that are not needed or add more memory to your computer.
