Not "it's happening" - don't tell me the polar ice caps are melting, they've been melting for 12,000 years, they used to extend to New Jersey.

Not "only an idiot would doubt it now" - I read the Emperor's New Clothes too.

Not "everybody knows" - "everybody knows" a lot of things that aren't true.

Not "the scientists say" - a lot of smart people suspect it, but that's not proof and it's NOT all of them.

Not "CO2 traps heat and we started pumping billions of tons into the atmosphere 80 years before this warm period began, ipso facto......." There have been countless similar warm periods when CO2 levels were lower, there are other gases with far greater heat-trapping properties that aren't contributed by man, and the increase in atmospheric CO2 concentration in relation to the atmosphere is 90 parts per million, or 1/11,000th, over 200 years.

The closest thing to "proof" that I've seen is the cooling stratosphere, but that started happening less than 20 years ago.

AMEN! This planet's average temperature cycles around the freezing point of water and right now, it happens to be on the upswing (or perhaps the peak) of its cycle.
It will cool a bit later in the cycle and the alarmists will be yelling about 'global cooling' and 'the new ice age' (again), like they were about 20 years ago.
That was the same group, as I remember, that is now all a-twitter about global 'warming'.
go figure.

Is global warming real? Yes. There is tons of proof that it is happening right now, and has been for the thousands of years. What is causing it is up for debate. For all the proof that some scientists have that humans are causing it, there are other scientists that have proof that it is occurring naturally. Personally, I tend to believe the second group. The planet has been a lot warmer than it is now, and there were no humans around to cause it. It will cool off and warm up again in the future, long after humans have become extinct.

Does this mean we don't need to restrict pollution output from factories and cars and such? No. I like breathing clean air. It's good for my health and my kids health. Also, everything in my first paragraph is based on theories. One these theories is wrong. I believe in one of them, but I could be wrong. But I don't think we need to get everybody in a big panic until there is definitive proof that humans are causing it. Remember, just 30 years ago, the big scare was that humans were causing the planet to go into another ice age. We needed to stop "global cooling". I guess we humans are so good that we stopped the planet from cooling off into the next ice age in less than 30 years.

According to some scientists, the greenhouse gas, global warming scare is completely unsupported by the data.

Here's a quote: "Observational evidence does not support today's computer climate models, so there is little reason to trust model predictions of the future. Yet this is precisely what the United Nations did in creating and promoting Kyoto and still does in the alarmist forecasts on which ... climate policies are based."

This is by accredited and prominent scientists in the field.

There is no proof that man is the cause. There is proof that it's happening. Also, there is proof that what man is doing is causing it. We here in the Ohio Valley live within 10 miles of 4 major coal burning power plants. We have our own little weather patten caused by burning coal. AEP even bought a whole town so as not to keep making everyone sick and having the emesions eating the paint off thier cars. If you don't beleive it, come to Cheshire, Ohio in Gallia county and see for yourself. Until you have lived with it, you would have no idea. You can spout on about your so called facts but these are real life facts that are happening right before out eyes. There is also proof that these power plant emissions travel all the way north to Canada. We are causing this great earth to die.

Is international warming actual? particular. there's a lot of info that it incredibly is going on authentic now, and has been for the 1000's of years. what's inflicting it incredibly is up for debate. For each and all of the info that some scientists have that human beings are inflicting it, there are different scientists that have info that it incredibly is going on needless to say. for my section, I even tend to have faith the 2nd group. Does this advise we don't could restrict toxins output from factories and autos and such? No. i admire respiratory sparkling air. it incredibly is sturdy for my wellbeing and my young babies wellbeing. additionally, each little thing in my first paragraph is in keeping with theories. One those theories is incorrect. i've got faith in considered one of them, yet i could be incorrect. yet i don't think of we could get all of us in a huge panic till there is definitive info that human beings are inflicting it. undergo in strategies, merely 30 years in the past, the super scare substitute into that human beings have been inflicting the planet to pass into yet another ice age. we mandatory to renounce "international cooling". i assume we human beings are so sturdy that we stopped the planet from cooling off into the subsequent ice age in decrease than 30 years.

In reality there is no way to say that what man has done is good for the planet.

But if you want to look at global warming scientifically, then you should look at the earths orbit as it is elliptical and we are hitting the inner portion of the rotation combine this with the fact the the earth axis is not fixed and it is at the angle which provides it with the greatest heat absorption, that will explain a lot of the global warming. This combination of the Axis and the elliptical orbit hits about every 10,000 years.

If you don't believe this, you can go to many websites and look at models of the earths orbit and see it.

"America is on the verge of technological breakthroughs that will enable us to live our lives less dependent on oil. And these technologies will help us be better stewards of the environment, and they will help us to confront the serious challenge of global climate change." President George Bush, State of the Union 2007

Well the president seems to believe in it now. That's proof enough for righties isn't it.
