My daughter is 4 months old and she makes a weird growling sound.

she's just making noises, she's discovering that when she does it there's noises, just like blowing bubbles and making the raspberry sounds, it's normal, try growling back at her and watch her giggle.

They make all sorts of noises because they are discovering their voice, but don't yet have the ability to speak words. My daughter is 15 months old and sometimes still grunts, but at this point it is more of a game to her since she knows a few words and gets her point across easily for everything else.

She is just discovering that she can make different kinds of sounds. Its the beginning of language development. Just sit back and enjoy!!

THat is sooooooo cuTE!!! lol dress her up as a kitty come halloween. I think she's just trying to clear her throat. Maybe she's just tired. LoL or is she just asserting her position as the center of your world? She sounds adorable, congrats!

It is the craziest thing!! My husband and I just crack up laughing when our little 6 week old does it....she is sooooo noisy!!!

And here we thought our little angel was an "original"!!

maybe she is trying to speak or imitate sounds she hears
