Regarding material wealth.
If you have fresh water, food, and shelter then you are rich. If you do not have to fight to defend it then you are very rich. If you don't have these things and you decide to have children then you are unworthy of any of it. If you think otherwise you are extraordinarily spoiled and/or selfish.

if you find yourself happy when you receive gifts , then you are poor , while , if you are happy when to grant gifts ( of any sort ) then you are rich .
