Hi I'm in my third year in college and this semester I decided to make an effort to be a lot more social. So I've been meeting new people, going to parties, hanging out with friends to play games and/or watch movies. I even spend the night too.

Well ever since then my schoolwork has improved tremendously, I'm in my third week and not once did I feel like not going to class or not doing my homework.

Before I was 'social' I had a problem of motivating myself.

Is that normal?

Sure it's normal. I imagine that by getting out and meeting people you feel more self-confident and are "finding yourself" in a world beyond school. That newly found self confidence is "kicking in" and it's affecting every aspect of your life. I had the same experience except it was in high school, and I ended up graduating with honors, tremendous popularity and good friends I have to this day (I'm now 42). Don't let the socializing jeopardize your grades but you may find everything is a lot easier when you find being yourself a lot easier. Congratulations!!!!!!

Yes, it's pretty much normal. When you started to make efforts becoming more social, you started to have a lot more fun and met more friends. Because of these things, you now have more friends in school, in classes and you enjoy showing up to school and to class more because now you have all these new reasons to do so.

Yes it is normal and almost ideal combination. You are more satisfied with your life. Socialization was definitely what you have been missing and now you feel complete. I am glad that you feel better and just wish you to go ahead.

i don't think its normal, but i wouldn't be complaining. perhaps i didn't have the proper balance of motivation to keep myself from drinking and partying my way to a couple Fs. but hey, not all things made sense. i used to work at a Mcdonald's, when i first started working there my grades improved, and i lost some wieght! go figure that one.
