Requirements may vary greatly from college to college or major to major. Most schools have Writing, Literature, History, Health, Math, Social Science, Fine Arts Appreciation, Religious Studies/Philosophy, and Natural Science requirements for the students to fulfill in different ways. Science majors usually need higher math levels, but need only introductory social science courses.

When looking for these requirements at colleges, look for sections in the catalog called 'liberal studies,' 'general education,' 'core requirements,' 'requirements for graduation,' or something like that. Usually, these courses are intended to provide you with a well-rounded basis on which to build your academic knowledge.
