I am the mother of 2 and I am the owner of a PSP in our family. I am not a gamer, but love the media side of the unit and do buy game for my kids to play. I have been watching the upcoming titles for the PSP and it seems obvious that Sony is beginnig to widen the market on their games to appeal to more than just those who like RPG's. My daughter would love a game similar to Nintendogs for my PSP, and I would happily buy it for her.

There is a game available in Japan called The Dog: Happy.

It is essentially a Nintendogs clone on the PSP.
However, currently it is only available in Japan, so you would have to import it and be ok with it being in Japanese.

Also note that although both games are pet simulators, the PSP does not have a touch screen like the DS, and so its interface will be very different from Nintendogs on the DS.

No. Sony focuses mostly on the "hardcore" gamer group, who like racers and first person shooters.

Honestly, I suggest getting a Nintendo DS. They are not that expensive, at $129, and there are plenty of fun immersive games like Nintendogs.

No, because the SONY company does not target little girls interested in using their game system to play with doggies....
