I knicked one of the choke coils on the motherboard with a screwdriver and chipped the coating. Help!!

If the board is still working then don't worry. Possibly put a bit of paint (clear nail varnish would do) on the scrape. If you do paint it, so it with the computer off and disconnected from the mains and leave it dry before turning it on.

If the board isn't working... you've broken something. Maybe you can buy a replacement part if you can identify what it was... but you'll probably find the part costs a large part of the cost of a new mobo unless you've got a very fancy mobo. Plus the chance of getting a replacement onto the board if you're not skilled at board-level repairs isn't great. Plus depending what the damage did there may be other bits that have been damaged by the effect of the nick.

Next time be a little more gentle with the screwdriver!
