Well, the US doesn't really *need* much from France, but it imports a lot of foodstuffs (wine, cheese, etc.). It actually imports a lot of machinery as well. They are good economic partners.
Quoting from the French embassy: "France’s exports to the U.S. are mainly industrial products, first in the aeronautics sector: airplanes, reactors and machines (30%), chemicals (23%), car equipments and energy products (8%). Food products (10%), including wines/spirits (4%), represent a far smaller proportion of French sales. "

i dont think the US really "needs" anything from france. However, the US imports things like wine, perfume, some clothes and some fancy food. Girls buy those big purses. I don't think they really get much from France because most french things are made in foreign countries now, like china and other places in asia.
