I cant figure why the bears are the underdog in the superbowl. They are going to stomp the colts Why is the spread so high?

the spread is high because people love Payton manning. It has nothing to do with the bear ability.
If the colts can not stop the bears from running it will be a long day for the colt.
Remember Rex grossman does not have to play well for the bears to win. Payton will have to have a MVP performance to win.
The bears are a team, the colts are Payton Manning.
If the colts win someone else will have to step up.

NFC has been down the last few years so the AFC is the auto pick.
Plus the Bears ended up with a relatively easy schedule and only went 2-2 against the AFC. Where as the Indy schedule has been harder and they went 3-1 against the NFC including win against 2 of the playoff teams.
That being said the Bears had the same number of points for and 100 less against so I'm not counting them out at all.

Nobody thinks Chicago is consistent enough to be favored. They are arguably the best team in the NFL, and arguably just a mediocre team.
The Bears will not get any R-E-S-P-E-C-T untill they win the SB.
