Don't you hate it when.......?

Question

Say you go to a fast food restaurant and the total is $4.03, and you give them a $5 bill. And instead of them just forgetting about the 3 cents and giving you a dollar back, they give you 97 cent in change? I mean, come on!!

Ok, I see your point, but lets for a minute look at the other side of this "coin" - -
A fast food joint lets you slide for the 3 cents.. and they do that for every custom they have for the day .. hell if it's McDonalds in Los Angeles that could be 1000 customers a day. So 1000 x .03 = $30.00, then lets say they do this for everyone for a week thats
$210.00 every week gone in pennies, or for a month $840.00 gone in pennies.
Not that McDonalds can't afford it, in fact I'm all for them taking this $840.00 a month and putting back into the community, or donating it to a worth while charity like Breast Cancer.
There's two sides to every "coin" - lol get it?

An answer from a cashier: we are penalized if our total for the day is + or - more than $2. Sometimes, there are rewards for someone who isn't even a penny off. This amount can vary for other places, I imagine. On busy days, I have served over 200 customers. If I round things up for everyone whose change is not quite an even dollar, I could end up being short. I really don't feel like keeping track to make sure I don't overdo it. If I happen to have pennies laying around that someone left behind, of course I will use those to another customer's benefit.

I hate fast food, just the other day I thought I will give mickey d's a whirl and sure enough, once again it blows chunks.
Oh, the 3 cent thing, why don't you just keep some extra pennies in your car cup holder and that will cure the problem. besides they have to balance out.

Here in Britain they have prices like £19-99 on the rack that says under £20 what a save your making a whole 1p..

What about when the cashier doesnt have enough change and you say its ok never mind the penny does that mean next time your in the shop and your a penny short you can say you owe me one....

i don't pay lots interest to the Jonas Brothers, yet they do look kinda poopy. Miley Cyrus feels like a self-general entire in the butt who's merely too grown. (Jonas Brothers look too toddler like.) Well... you should really give them the 3 pennies if you have them, but if not then you shouldn't complain about it because it isn't your money. They have to keep the register right, but as a carhop I do that all day just because I don't want to count out that change. But, it does take out of my tips. Oh well.

yeah or like at a gas station when there is only 2 pennies in the thingy and they wont just give it to ya....i leave pennys in there all the time come on the next person behind me will probably leave a penny

as a cashier, you're register must come out exactly. companies track overages and shortages and you can lose your job for a few pennies. try keeping at least 10 pennies in your console then you'll never have that problem again.

I hate it more when old ladies pay for the same amount in dimes nickles and pennies. Thats annoying!
