My band are flying out to our first overseas gig tommorow, so I thought I'd make a mix CD for the drive to the airport and give it a flying theme. So far I've only thought of The Airplane song by Straw and Skylon by the amazing Gruff Rhys. The band tends to like indie/rock/pop but certainly isn't opposed to other types of music. And none of us like Red Hot Chilli Peppers so please don't suggest Music is my Aeroplane. We are flying to Hungary if that helps!

How about:

Air Force Song ("Off we go, into the wild blue yonder...")
Fly Like an Eagle - Steve Miller Band
Fly Away - John Denver
Travelin' Band - Creedence Clearwater Revival
Any of the "Snoopy vs the Red Baron" songs, but they're pretty silly.

I was in Hungary a couple years ago and it was a nice visit. There's lots of pretty women there but it's a little hard to find English speakers. Just remember: "igen" is yes, "nem" is no and "kusonom" is thank you.

treetop flyer-jimmy buffett
you may also find it named "flying at tree top level". the songs official name is hard to tell because it is a hidden track on the cd "banana wind" but you can find the song on limewire. someone else did this song but i dont know who. but i know for a fact that jimmy buffett did it as a hidden track. i have the c.d. and i like jimmy's version better.

no plane on sunday-jimmy buffett
i count this one in but you should listen to see if you find it to fit what you are looking for.

this one also may be stretching it.

rocket man-elton john
