Serious question. For years i've been falling asleep with the tv on. it seems apparent that i have trouble sleeping without background noise. i've also exhauseted myself by sometimes working mutliple full time jobs, but now i work third shift so needless to say my sleep pattern is very irregular, and i seem to be able to fall asleep on command. as of late, since i started third shift, my dreaming has been extremely frequent (almost every time i fall asleep) has seem to have had more involved plots, been extremely vivid, and my ability to recall the dreams are done so with ease. i don't really believe in a conscious value of dreams, and i'm not worried about what they mean. first Question; my dreams sometimes become scripted to the programs on the TV. i know this because i can recognize lines from movies i've already seen within my dreams. could it be possible that while falling asleep the background noise somewhat bridges the gap between my conscious state and my dream state? more...

yesterday, i had what i felt to be a step in the direction of controlling my dreams. while i don't believe i've ever had lucid dreams before, i don't know if i'm slowly training myself for this without knowing it. in my dream i found myself inside a dark dark haunted mansion hunting zombies with a steaknife (stupid i know). what intrigued me is that when i have dreams like this i usually get very apprehensive, and my movements seem very very slow and ineffective. a couple weeks ago i had a WW2 dream and i was trying to stab this nazi in the name of self defense with all my being, but physically, i just couldn't do it. i remember being very scared. but in the zombie dream, i felt very capable and sure of all my actions. it felt like it was supposed to be a nightmare, but i was balls to the wall duke nukem style ready and eager to kill some zombies. maybe im just a wierdo, but i've never had dreams of violent manner where i was fully capable by my own will to carry out my own functions.

i don't believe it was a lucid dream, but i wonder if i'm on to something, like a crash course to lucid dreaming, because if i was that would be friggin awesome!!!
