it seems that contestants from the same southern and western and southwestern states win top honors in the miss america pageant. ive been told that these states put more money into the pageant and that is why. what do you think. i am so tired of seeinmg this happen for years on end.

Probably their general appearance. Have you seen the way some of the girls here dress and look? They fry their hair and wear way too much eye makeup! And don't get me started on the tanning beds---those folks look orange!

Pageantry in the south is a tradition and honor. They are southern belles and they are tough. Miss Texas is stripped from her family for 9 months to prepare for Miss America she lives with her directors who teacher how to talk, walk, eat, sleep, and be beautiful from the inside out. Honestly girls from the north can not compete with that. Even in Illinois it is much harder for girls from central illinois to win any major Illinois pageants because they do not have the locals to compete in like Southern counties and Chicago counties can.
Winning pageants take dedication, money and hard work. You also have to be very experianced in pageants to start winning those preliminaries. An exception to the rule would be this years Miss Texas. Often times once you get that big break with a win you will get free coaching and a new ward robe to help you out. Miss Alabama this year did 23 Preliminaries to get to Miss America. Obviously she worked her but off and had family support.

That's a good question. I don't really know about the consistency of anyone winning the pageant. I know that Miss Oklahoma won this year and last. But I thought they both deserved to win. Maybe the southern states produce "better" contestants. Who knows?

Well... Because Miss america and Pagents in general are not really something that huge in the northeast. Theyre more of a southern thing, with debutantes(sic) and all that jazz, since those retards have less to do with their time. Who cares anyways. Its a retarded beauty pageant.
