It's quite easy, and I would think the iron-on hem deal would be stiffer than doing it by hand.
First measure your legs and the pants and figure out how much you want taken up, plus 1-2 inches for the hem. You can do a rolled hem, but if the pants are dressy type slacks you will want a single fold hem and you can either leave the edge raw (that rayon/poly material used in slacks rarely frays) or you can use a serge stitch on it, if you have a sewing machine you will have a serge stitch, or variations of one.
When you do it by hand you do a whip stitch but when you go through the material that will be seen in the front you take very, very little of it, a thread or two at the most from the pants and then go into your hem, and repeat. This is an invisible stitch. If you have another pair of pants you can look at them to see how it's done.

the wonderful way continually, is to degree, tuck and stitch the hem (slip-stitch on lower back quite than have stitches coach on front). in case you extremely do unlike sewing yet another decision is a product obtainable in sewing shops that's approx. a million/2" to a million" extensive and has adhesive on the two factors. Tuck the surplus pant below and place this product between the two products of fabric. using a press cloth (damp tea towel is superb) and severe warmth, press (do no longer iron) down on each and every area and repeat till you have finished the pant leg. (carry down as directed or for possibly 20 seconds...enable cool and notice if that grew to become into long sufficient...if no longer repeat and attempt an prolonged time). I continually try this with the pant leg interior out. this would possibly no longer carry as nicely if the pants are washer-friendly yet could be redone. while you're hemming demim or want a secure hem, the wonderful ingredient is to slipstitch (stitch possibly a million/2" aside grabbing the hem of the unique length and a tiny area of the lower back of what's going to be the recent "front" with the intention to maintain the sewing from exhibiting too a lot). stable success!

Use the iron on invisible magic hem stuff. you can get from most supermarkets/ woolworths etc. you fold the trousers to the length you want, dampen the fabric and place the invisible hem adhesive in the fold. Ironing with a very hot iron 'melts' the adhesive and makes it stick to the trousers/ material. this then forms a bond/ holding the 'turn up' in place.
