I have a Nokia 6680 and am on Orange network. Even when I have full signal, I sometimes get a message saying I've one missed call - the phone doesnt ring and the caller gets sent straight to my voicemail. Also - it often cuts out in the middle of a conversation. Has anyone else had this problem?

It could be either! I know there was a problem with the older nokia 3g handsets (6630 and 6680) switching between 3g and standard calling signal. If you havent already you could try switching off the 3g on your handset unless you use it a lot that might work.
(From memory so wording mite be slightly different) Go into menu and then tools, settings, network, then one of the options is something like umts/gsm or gsm. pick the one without umts.)
Mite work it might not just have to try it! If not speak to orange they should be able to check the network or/and send your phone for repair!

Without doubt, a bit of both... Ur handset will only show you an indication of the signal strength at any given point. The signal changes so often that handsets can rarely keep up. So what's happening is ur network signal isn't great but ur handset hasn't registered that at that particular time, so straight to missed call.

Must say after using all networks, apart from 3, orange seem to be the worst for it. Sometimes you gotta compromise for a good deal!

Hope that helps.

Sounds like half and half to me. I will be talking on my cell and then lose the signal. But it is not frequent and I know it is not my phone.

Now if receiving a signal and no ring, then I suspect the phone.

But take it to the cell company and let them diagnose it.

It sounds like your handset to me, bring it into your local shop they will probably be able to assist.
