I just got my first two guinea pig. I want to give them a bath because they kinda stink right now. But i'm in doubt if it is safe for their age. You see they're just four months old.

Bunny bath is the best shampoo to use. The web below wil help you. It can be disasterous if they inhale water. Is the young of piggie really that dirty? You shouldn't bath it just to be bathing it. If the piggie is that dirty you need to take better care of it's cage or pen.

I gave my girl Charlie a bath when she was three weeks (they're not supposed to be taken away from their mother until they're about 3 weeks...that's what happens when you get one from a pet store...lesson learned!) and she was fine. Just try not to do it often because it'll take away the natural oils in their skin. Try to find the reason why they stink first, a good absorbant bedding (like carefresh) should help keep pee from getting into their fur.

You could also just wet down a wash cloth with warm water and some baby (or rabbit) shampoo and wipe them down.

Yes you can bath them. Pet stores sell shampoo for rabbits & guinea pigs. After bathing them make sure you dry them good & keep them in a warm room so they don't get sick. Good luck!

i wouldnt do it right now...too cold outside. wait until it warms up a bit...that way if u cant get them all dry they wont catch a cold from the air coming into ur apt. or house. but u can run about an inch of water in ur bathtub or sink (bathtub is better bc they will try to crawl away). then just soap them up and rinse off with cups of water. but they generally dont like water higher than their legs are. when done towel dry off as much as u can and then use the low setting on ur hair drier.
