Play a barre on the first fret and then finger the 'A' shape on the 4th fret rather than the 2nd

E 2
B 4
G 4
D 4
A 2
E X

sorry I typed B(flat) before

B chord isn't a great one for beginners....

But it's

E
| | | | | |
o o | | | x
| | | | | |

where E is low E, O are optional (otherwise don't play), x is required. Think of it as an A shape two semitones (frets) up.

Alternatively you can play an E shape starting from the 7th fret (barr 7th with your finger, then e shape starting on the 8th). Took me ages to learn how to do barr chords though (electric bar chords are easier).

Levellers are easy to learn with cos they have three chords. Unfortunately the anti-music music industry have closed down OLGA which had loads of free chords to help you start. bob Dylan is also good to start with - blowing in the wind, also brown eyed girl is three chords also. both are variations on A, D and E ( I think). If you are learning electric then learn power chords and do stuff like Nivarna teen spirit and white stripes errr...forget the name, the one with the Dum da da da da dummmmm dummmm baseline if you get what I mean.

Learn the chords F, C, G and A.

you will be able to play lots of songs with just these four chords.

To play a B chord fret the 1st fret on 5th string, and barre 2-4th string with your ring finger on the 3rd fret.

The A shape should be made on the fourth fret and the index finger is used to barre the second fret:

E 2
B 4
G 4
D 4
A 2
E X
