i have a primary partition and an unallocated partition. i tried in different ways to add that free space to the primary partition, but the win xp partitioner just made a seperate partition with a drive letter. i just want to add that space the primary and have one partition. anyone know what i need to do with the windows xp partitioner?

As far as I remember the only way to resize the OS partition under Windows is to use a special partition management software like Disk Director by Acronis.

You need a program that can dynamically resize/configure partitions. Something like PartitionMagic. There are several programs that do this. Your local computer store should be able to help you find what you need.

Note that some of these programs are unreliable and can corrupt your hard drive. The most reliable way to do it is to backup your data, wipe the hard drive, partition it, and move the data back.
