Hi there! Matte finish in a foundation (face makeup) is a flat, no lustre finish. It is great for most ladies under 45 (pre-crow's feet, other little wrinkles) because it gives your face a flawless finish. It does this by filling in any imperfections (some have small acne scars or large pores). In example, if you know anything about photography paper, you can order your photos is gloss or matte; the gloss is shiny, the matte is not. Blusher is another face paint that you apply to the "apple" of your cheek (smile big, use a brush or your fingers to apply the blush on the "bulge" or apple of your cheek). Blush is a wonderful face brightener, but be care with all makeup applications. The idea for face makeup is to look like you were born with perfect skin and rosy cheeks. You can overdo it and look like you are joining the circus! Make sure you test your foundation on the back of your hand to get a better color match for your skin; same way with the blush. There are websites to scroll thru that can help you pick the colors and finishes that are right for your skin type and color. Just type in "professional makeup application" in your search bar; thousands to choose from. GOOD LUCK!!

Blusher is blush, matte is when you basically have a non-shiny finish, like matte vs. glossy photo finishes. It can be achieved using powder.

Matte is term used for cosmetics to not provide shine/shimmer. Blush is a color applied to the cheeks, most often to look naturally rosey.

Matte is lacking in any shine. Be careful if you have dry skin though, these products tend to lack emollients, and will make your skin feel drier.
