Yes,
I think we could use a few more States.
The thing is we don't really need to do that. Right now Canada is only about 1/10 the size of the US (in population, that's what really counts) and pretty much IS part of the USA in all things but a very few. What the US wants from Canada we allready get, natural resources and a market for our goods, etc. Occasionally a Canadian leader will raise a tax on timber or something, or call us ugly names at the UN, but it's no big deal.
The US allready IS the worlds most powerful nation. Economically Canada is very oriented towards the US market. NAFTA has our countires economicaly tight.
The Canadian government pretty much let the US take over most of the job of defending Canada back in the 50s, (and sacrificed an excellent aerospace industry doing it, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avro_Arrow ), so they could have the money for welfare programs. Canada still has a military, and they are a very professional force, (they are doing an excellent job in Afganistan) but they aren't very large.
You buy our trucks, watch our TV, wear our clothes; we buy your oil, film our movies there, buy electricty from your hydro dams, and control your airspace.
I would love to see a 60 star flag, but basicly the US feels "why should we buy the cow when we are getting the milk for free?", Right now we get everything we want and we don't have to deal with your National Health Service or put up with the nutballs in Quebec.

No, Canada would then have to join war. And America has to deal with Quebec and the french side. Then this one big country will agrue with each other non-stop, taxes will raise and the government would be probably more forceful. Theres always a Canadian who hates an American, and an American who hates a Canadian. Still the views with America and Canada on war is way different.

Sure thing! If EU consists of so many countries, why USA and Canada could not become as one?
That said, USA could benefit not only from the Canadian water, as suggested by somebody earlier, but also from the Canadian health care system, too.
Canadians could teach the Americans how to implement the best health care system, but, what's most important, they could teach them how to "hold their horses", too.

I'm not sure Canada would want to take over the USA mess, but I think it'd be helpful.
