I have not tried this however, I don not believe it will cure a mouse problem. They are natural predators but, are rather domesticated these days. If you only have a couple mice it may inadvertently catch and kill a mouse. You would be better off with a cat in this instance. Once a cat realizes there is a mouse or mice about, it will spend its days and nights stalking it/them. It will then play with until dead. A ferret is too energetic when awake to really be paying attention to the pests. A ferret will be busy finding objects it can put into its hidey holes around your house. So again, I would recommend a cat for this purpose and a ferret to play with for yourself. Oh, I have owned and raised three ferrets myself. Happy hunting!!!

I haven't tried it in my loft but I did let three of my ferrets go loose in my garage to try and get rid of the rats in there. Unless the ferrets are free to roam the loft, they will not be a deterrent as we have had mice and rats taking food from right outside our ferret hutch. If the mice are nesting up there, you could put a ferret up there to kill them (which they would with ease). I think your best bet would be to get a mouse trap.

Depends on the problem if the mice are eating you out of food call the landlord. If they are sleeping in the loft get the landlord to call the police as they are squating. If all fails phone the council as the little gits won't be paying council tax and I'll have to pay on behalf of them.

Ferrets are carnivores. They will hunt and eat mice. However I would not like to think what diseases or parasites the mice may be carrying. It is possible your pet ferret may catch something. However that said - the smell of the ferret may be enough to dislodge the mice - though I very much doubt it.

Just u make sure the ferret considers the loft its home and I think it might work. But also try puttin fake rubber corn snakes in the loft and I promise the mice will go.I had a freind who used real corn snakes.

That's a bad reason to get any animal in my opinion. Most hard ware stores carry a catch and release trap. Put peanut butter on a small peice of cardboard, place in trap and check the following day. Take trap and mouse and release a few hundred feet from your home.
