I think it's rubbish but each time it's on find myself inexplicably drawn to it. They won't take it off the screens as long as it generates the type of publicity it does - including people asking questions like this.

You cannot take big brother off our screens, it is a valuable community service, keeping the streets free of f*ckwits for weeks at a time, imagine what it would be like if BB, I'm a celebrity nonentity, etc were not on the hypnotic box in the corner, the streets would be swarming with no brain f*ckwits, the prisons would be even fuller than they are, news papers would have to print actual news, teenage girls would not simper and declare that they want to marry a football player, they might go to uni instead and be of some value, people might have to actually read a book now and again, the whole fabric of the society we have been dragged into by exploitative, cynical TV execs would change. The implications do not bear thinking about, sports wear companies might have to lay people off, mass unemployment in burger bar staff, crap journalists struggling to write decent copy, all those shiny vacuous mid shelf piles of excremental mags would disapear, who would pay the Beckhams for pictures of their children, would jordan need to put up with her unfeasibly large breasts to make money or could she just stick with being a checkout girl. Wayne Rooneys squeeze would no longer be in a position to tell young women what clothes to buy instead of ringing them through the till for them. No, no, I'm afraid BB has to stay, at least until some other bright young TV person comes up with something equally crappy but slightly different.

Oh most definitely! It's worse than curtain-twitching! My mother in law, who I must say I am very fond of, used to watch Big Brother when it was live. I am talking about when they were all asleep and whatismore, for hours on end!!
I feel that it is purely voyeurism-gone-mad. You might as well get a telescope and look out of your own window (just like my neighbour!) & see what your own neighbours are up to.
But there is so much television that should be given the boot, as in time immemoriam, it makes you wonder if it is worth switching it on. My answer is get yourself an Xbox 360 and shoot everything on the bloody box! Can somebody invent a Controlling Really Aweful Programming (C. R. A. P.) filter, please?
And don't you just love bad continuity and getting it somewhere close to what life is realistically like in TV soaps!?! This question should form a forum of its' own.

Yes!
All the reality shows have now run there course it is just like the japense reality shows now were they are toutured until they give up, very funny to start with but then we are a fickle bunch who lose interest quickly.
It is time the TV producers earned there money and come up with the next generation off television instead of giving us the same rebranded rubbish we have been watching for years.

The more coverage is given, the more the channel will think the people want it. No such thing as bad publicity and all that.
I just hope that they do take it off as I can imagine the next series as having all the most extreme forms of religion or diversest races as the contestants just to see them rip each other apart.
I find it mind boggling that people get sucked into watching so many shows about nothing.

LOL All this time I have hated this programme...it finally does something worthwhile...and you want it taken off?
I still haven't actually watched it, but I've followed the last few weeks with great interest! It has to be said that at last the inherent racism that abounds in this country is being exposed. Naturally the racists themselves are wriggling like worms about it...but for once reality TV has produced something that is of real value to society.

i believe that had the racism thing not happened this series of BB would have been so mind numbingly boring that it would certainly have sounded the final death knell for the celebrity big brother franchise if not indeed for the whole franchise.
the only reason it is still on our screens is because of the cash cow that it is for channel 4.
on another tangent if anyone has read the book "dead famous" by Ben Elton you will no doubt see just how incredibly prophetic it is about the whole big brother type genre.. if you have not read it then really honestly do it is an amazing read by someone who has blossomed into an amazing writer

I do. I don't understand how people watch any of this reality show garbage. It just shows how easy we are to mold as a society. The media can make us like anything. It's not just tv programming. Just look how our values have been corrupted in the last 20 years. Twenty years ago it would have been unimaginable to see our rights taken away like they are today.

Yeah, it's about time we get back to scripted shows. The reality bandwagon has more than run its course. All the participants have become so self aware that its anything but "reality".
In the meantime, it seems like Game Shows have made a big comeback...but at least their reality is tightly controlled and the contestants don't have free reign to become as annoying as possible just to get more camera time.

I just don't like reality television because it is humilating, embarassing and a waste of our money also time. The TV producters obviously have run out of ideas on good decent TV programmes and chucked in people to make a fool of themselves to enterain us. I'd rather they used the money to make a good TV series or a TV film instead of all that drivel.

I F#CKEN hate Big Brother and every other reality show that
is on TV. I mean, ya gotta be so boring and pathetic with no
life of your own ,so ya gotta watch C0CKHEADS making a fool
of themselves .!!
And the thing that gets me is that millions of people around
the world love and worship the F#CKEN RETARDS on that
show. And then all of a sudden they become celebrities and
famous and for what ? nothing, not a thing...
I thought watching Mr Bean was torture? But after seeing bits
of Big Brother Mr Bean's pale in comparison. They should use
it as a form of visual torture for Guantanamo Bay prisoners...
