The term "Super Bowl" is licensed by the NFL and can't be used without their permission. I hope I don't get sued now for saying it.

You cannot use the term "Super Bowl" to advertise your product without paying the NFL. However, if you are reporting the news, you can use the term all you want.

its absolutely ridiculous
I listen to the radio in the morning and the DJ's make fun of it nearly every day...saying stuff like "That bowl...its really super"
just another way for the NFL to try and make as much money as possible

hmm very intresting question im not sure maybe they try to make it seem better by like saying game of the year and stuff. Makes it seem more imporatnt.
