My wife and i had a schedule for playing a popular online computer game. We have recently been fighting and the game was the root of the fights. So was it wrong for me to delete my charcters and stop playing the game? It was in efforts to stop fighting with her.

no and maybe she should do the same thing. I know how addicitive and consimming online gaming can be, but when it starts to interfere with our *real* lives, it is time to admit there is a problem and quit playing.

Communication is the most important thing in any marriage...your spouse should be your best friend...to fight over a computer game of all things is ridiculas..there are so many more things to fight about..what will we teach our children about life after death,Heaven and Hell.....why does she hang the toilet paper backward...who's turn was it to do the dishes....who's parents house do we go to this year for the Holidays...who handles the money, balances the checkbook and pays the bills...why does she do everything wrong.....
So next time you find time to play computer games....sit down and have a serious chat , it will be more productive for your marriage and you might actually learn something.

see a counsellor, if your fighting over a GAME you got issues to sort out buddy.

I cant think of anything worse than a computer wreaking a marriage. I suggest you both kill the computer and TALK to each other over dinner, go out, see a movie, do something useful and social, forget the competition of trying to be better than the other on a compute game. Make love, go outside and have a picnic in the park, go for a bike ride together, take a river cruise. Be alive, you only got one go at it, once your dead its all over dont waste your time here.

Why would you fight about a game in the first place? That sounds pretty immature. No it is not wrong for you to stop playing if it is causing problems. Games are meant for fun and only kids should get mad when they loose

It was the right thing as it shows that you value your wife over the game. Hopefully the fighting will stop and you two can find something better to do together.

No not really. If my husband/boyfriend would do that for me I'd feel really bad and wish I would have done something else before fighting. In our house we have two computers and it's really nice. We don't have to fight over computers whenever we want on. Maybe you could save up and get her a laptop and tell her it's because you love it. Most of them are coming with wireless cards now too so you could just turn your house into wireless.

No it wasn't wrong of you. In fact it was being considerate. But why not look around and find another cheap computer then you can BOTH play the game and everyone is happy? Good Luck

I think you needed to discuss it with her. I would not want my husband making any decision for me if I still enjoyed playing the game. What were the fights about?

You have evey right to not play the game if you don't want to. It is a free world. If she wants to continue to play she has every right. Don't even fight about it, just do it.
