You can either connect to the internet via the wireless AirPort or the wired ethernet connection at the back of your iMac. Use the Help from the toolbar at the top. Since it is new you can use the network setup assistant to help you create one depends on the type of connection:

1. Click the apple icon on the top left corner, from the dropdown menu select System Preferences

2. From the Internet & Network section select the Network icon

3. If your connection is not configured yet you can create one using the Assistant by clicking Assist Me button.

4. The rest is just follow the screen instruction and the Help manual depending on the type of connection required.

Good luck and enjoy the surfing.

For wireless Airport:

1. select the Internet Connect Program from the Application Folder

2. After you open the Internet Connect window click the Airport icon

3. Turn the Airport ON and select the network which you want to connect from the network dropdown menu

4. Click the show Airport status in menu bar on

Good luck!
