I think David Beckham decided to go to US as he had been let down by the lows caused due to Real Madrid's failures in Spain. In USA, he will get more opportunities to play at a less competitive level. He is getting huge pay packets. He can also develop his soccer academy over there. After football, as his pal Tom Cruise suggested, he can pursue his career in Hollywood. Victoria Beckham can also once again get back into showbiz business.

He'll finally become an international/worldwide brand. He is/has been famous and popular every in the world except the USA. I think that is the main reason for his move. Many people might argue that he came for the cash. However, when you are as rich as he is, you stop doing things for money, but for pleasure and complacency. This guy was making at least 150,000 sterling pounds per week, which translates to around 300,000 US dollars per week.

He has been earning that amount for at least 10 years. NOt to mention other endorsements from large, multinational corps and other cash from his/wife's business endeavors e,g the parfum Beckham brand etc . It's clear that he wasn't really coming here for the money, but for the Hollywood glamour. You wonder why he strategically made friends with Tom-Kat the most talked about Hollywood couple....

I assume that his decision is based upon the hundreds of millions he is set to make. I did not know that soccer was of such interest in America that a team could profitably afford such high paid talent.

He'll benefit because of the media here. They will make him into a celebrity and therefore will make a lot of money. Vanity is a sin, but once you sell your soul, you won't care. Thanks.
