Yes it does, but not too much. I have to be honest here. When we complain about things like this, it tells ourself several things. It shows that we are smart, educated, and yes, somewhat perfectionistic and anal. I suppose we have to respect the diversity of peoples educational levels in our daily lives. Actually, it makes me feel a little smarter since I know what they don't know, yet we all makes mistakes and have our own strengths and weaknesses in life. Many people who can't spell have proficient skills in other areas of their lives. So the next time you tell that auto mechanic to speak and spell right, be patient and understanding, since the day will come for him to get your car back on the road. Just be thankful that we can communicate a little better than someone who can't.
Now if only that checkout clerk would use their brain and tell me not to "Have a nice Day" at 9 o'clock at night, I would be happy, lol. That drives me nuts, but hey, they might save your life someday. You never know.

Oh, don't get me started!! I'm a member of The Apostrophe Society.
Yes, it annoys me. It is not remotely difficult to work out which one is correct. Try replacing the word which sounds like "your" with the 2 words "you are". If the sentence still makes sense, then you need "you're" - the contraction of "you are".
Example: Is it your house?
Try: Is it you are house?
Makes no sense therefore "your" is clearly correct.
Example: Where do you think you're going?
Try: Where do you think you are going?
Makes perfect sense therefore the contraction is correct.
I could go on for hours, with people mixing up "there" and "their", "who" and "whom", "who's" and "whose".
I have no idea what happened to being taught to read and write, using correct grammar and punctuation. I could do all of those things before I started school at the age of 5 - fair enough, I was lucky in that my parents insisted on teaching basic English and maths from about the age of 3 at home so I had a bit of a head start. However, we had spelling tests, grammar exercises, punctuation tests and various other language skill tests throughout my education until the age of 12.

What I see people doing the most is using then instead of than.
What annoys me most is people that use impoper grammar and spelling and then THEY want to act like the grammar and spelling police correcting everybody else.
Occasionally, your and you're can be a hard one to figure out which to use in some sentences. Like If your going or If you're going

No it does not annoy me. Many people I communicate with
are from other countries and English is not their first language.

I personally enjoy those different ways of speaking it helps maintain the diversity of our mini cultures. However some rap crap does irritate as it often tends to vulgarity for no reason. A lady down in S.C. 6" tall and 130lbs told me she carried a lady friend several miles to a hospital after an auto accident. after several moments of arguing my dis belief I learned she hauled her to the hospital in her car. When she discovered our misunderstanding, she declared"ain't that a weeny on a bun!!"and I know she thought my way of expression was different and intriguing. We often have a reason to widen our friendships because of the different ways we express ourselves!

Yes. Another one of mine is when people say axe instead of ask, or warsh instead of wash.
The spelling and grammar of some yahoo questions and answers are just horrid as well. :)
