Why must people be unhappy to get somewhere in life but some can be happy doing nothing important with their life?

It depends on what you call important. To me, someone who doesn't build bridges or run a country yet can say hello and smile to a complete stranger at the shops is doing something important.

Very interesting question!there are so many people driven to earn the almighty dollar and in the process loose the happiness they sought, paying bills is very time consuming leaving little time for the joy of having children and participating with them in everyday activities. friends? are they really when you think of it after all it takes time to enjoy that so-called friendship.

There are others who enjoy life to the max, they pay for what they can afford have no credit cards and are not materialistic.

Ther are those who care little for the finer things in life, a can of beans a a baloney sandwich and all is well for others a steak is never enough!

Because some people have the thrust to do something or to achieve their goal in life while some people dont have nothing to do,,,or do not have much intension of using their energy and brain to achieve something,,thats why they feel happy in the way they are,,,

thats a good question. probably because hard work pays off later, but laziness pays off now. we will do almost anything for instant gratification.
