I dont think the child fully understands what she is saying and her thoughts have been largely influenced by the media. The childs viewing should be monitored and she should be introduced to charaters and actresses that attempt to be role models for young girls.
In addition to this, parental guidance is mandatory where the child is watching things that are of a more adult nature and where appropriate parents should provide children with the opportunity to openly and maturely discuss any concerns the child may have regarding what they have seen.

There shouldn't be a heated discussion with a nine year old. The parents need to be better in charge. If I so much as gave a 'smart' answer to my parents at that age, I'd have regretted it for days.
Parents - stop negotiating with children. You are in charge. If you show weakness, your children will sense it and take every advantage.

School, TV, Video games..the list is endless...... My daughter came home and told me one of her friends said she had sex in the church bathroom on Sunday (they are both 7!!!.) I was flabbergasted to say the least. Needless to say it opened an open dialog about sex with my daughter. I want her to know everything I can teach her. I don't want her to learn about it from another 7 year old. Kids grow up so much quicker than we did. I didn't even know what a period was until I was in 4th grade, now kids talk about sex in 1st grade?
It scares the **** out of me to think about it.

How a child behaves reflects on the parents. If might be a tv show she is watching or she over heard an adult conversation. You really have to be carefull with kids, they hear everything! I hope that they sat her down and corrected this, I think she might be ready for the talk!

what was the conversation about?
my two little sisters who are 8 talk about it often - they heard things at school and they always get punished if they mention it in front of me or my mother
maybe this person who couldnt wait told her so - im just guessing its a young girl from a redneck background

I think you may be over analysing the whole things. It is probably just the way it was said using the word "big" as is "grown up" instead of "old".
I wouldn't be losing sleep over it.

Her peers, unfortunately.
Make sure these things she is learning from her peers are straightened out between her and her parents.
So that way, even if she is aware of it (which is unavoidable), she will have the right views on it.
