Are you sure this is right? Isn't it meant to be 550?

Add a diagonal line to make either of the + into a 4

545 + 5 = 550
5 + 545 = 550
----------------
The other option would be 5 + 5 + 5 ≠ 500, but then it isn't really an equation any more

545 + 5 = 550
It should have been 550, not 500.

@ Kangaru: 545+5=550, not 500.

Even Jeffrey seems to be right:
5 + 5 + 5 ≠ 500

you probably didn't want our help. merely repalce x by technique of each and every probability, one after the other. the only which computes the left area to 31 is your answer. did you recognize a thanks to multiply finished numbers? via the undeniable fact that is so user-friendly, except you may't multiply.

5+5x5 would give you 500, having changed only one charactor. However, BODMAS requires that you insert brackets:

(5+5) x 5 = 500

Why?
