Do you think it is right that the Catholic Church are against gay couples adopting from the agencies they run?

I'm interested in what others think on this because I believe that the church are right to stick to what they believe in, and not be pressurized into changing their beliefs by the government.

Yeah they are right in sticking to there guns Being Gay is a Choice and a Right not a biological imperative the Catholic church does not condone Homosexuality and that is their right to do so they are following their doctrine which is set by their faith and their interpretation of its literature.

There are so many different adoption agencies out there that it really doesn't matter whether the catholic church is against it or not.

I'm sure there aren't a lot of gay people knocking down the catholic church's doors trying to get in, either.

If the Church changed their views to fit the "moral fashions" of the time, it would not be the Church!

I think they should stick to their beliefs.

If the law forces them out of the business of placing children, it will indeed show how selfish society has become.

There is a difference between "gay bashing" and recognizing the simple and irrefutable fact that men and women are not identical or interchangeable.

I understand that the Church does not place children with polygamous families either.

Nope. The adoption company will close down immediately. No courtroom can rigidity an company to do gay adoptions. they have the main appropriate to stop existence. Congratulations. which could advise much less young babies get a house through fact of liberal, militant gays forcing their practices on society. look up how Elton John feels with regard to the challenge. The hint may be that he even performed Rush Limbaughs wedding ceremony and he says gay marriage is incorrect. Marriage is between one guy and one female. Do what you prefer, yet you are able to not substitute mandatory definitions.

It's a tricky issue because apparently the Catholic Church are using public funds to carry out their activities. On this basis I don't think they should be allowed to discriminate against gay taxpayers...

Presumably equality legislation could also force the Church to appoint women priests if the principle is followed through! My view is that private organizations should be free to use their OWN money to promote or discriminate against anyone they choose according to their beliefs.

If the Catholic Church is running the agency then they can deny who they want. Gay people should maybe try another agency.

Religious and personal beliefs aside (mine I mean) it is perfectly acceptable and within their rights for an organization that is privately funded or allowed to operate privately (even with public funds) to deny Homosexuals the right to adopt from their agency based on their belief system.

Call me old fashioned, but I believe that a child is better off with a female for a mother, and a male for a father.
I am not Catholic, but I support their concerns on family stability.
