From the answers I gather that most are. Maybe a few are not.

No. Not all females. I own a 4 foot california king and a 7 foot boa constrictor. They do not spook me in the least. They are amazing creatures that most women (and men) just don't take the time to appreciate.

That's the best laugh I've had all morning, thanks. The closest I come to being "spooked" by snakes is the healthy respect I show for venemous snakes in the wild. Give 'em a little bit of room and watch them cruise off into the underbrush. I've been around snakes all my life and I can honestly say, no, not all females are spooked by snakes.

What kind of question is this? Just from interactions with all kinds of people in daily life, surely you must realize that no two people are alike. So, it makes sense to assume that not all people will agree, even if they are the same gender.

No, not all females are spooked by snakes. Some are the exact opposite and love to keep snakes as pets.

Please realize that such questions aren't necessary, as you can answer them on your own through your own observation.

No I am not spooked by snakes. My grandpa rescued and cared for all sorts of exotic animals, and I grew up there, so there is not any animal I can think of that frightens me. I have had snakes of all sizes, lizards, foxes, an injured black bear cub for a short while, a deer, goats, name it we had it. These were usually not pets my grandpa ran a rescue along with breeding coon hounds. My grandpa just loved animals and could not bear to see one in pain, unless he was coon hunting. That never did make sense especially since I can not tell you how many baby coons we raised. I am not scared of any sort of animal.

I love snakes, and always have, as long as I can remember. I think that the reason the stereotype of women/girls being afraid of snakes(or anything else "creepy-crawly")got started is that traditionally, females were thought of as "weak", and needing the protection of a male, and girls grew up being taught that it was their accepted role to be timid and fearful and the accepted role of males to protect them from scary things. That is, as I stated, a cultural stereotype. I've known many other women who keep pet snakes, tarantulas, scorpions, and many other such creatures, and I've known many men who are terrified of those things! Men tend to show fear differently, mainly by killing whatever they are scared of, but the bottom line is that they are STILL scaredy-babies! Killing something out of ignorance and needless fear is just as much an act of cowardice as running away screaming like a two-year-old!

This particular female is the proud caretaker of 12 snakes. Both my daughters each have a snake.
So, the answer to your question is No ;)

Let me put it this way...The only thing I am not scared of that crawls, are babies. Pathetic as it may be, if there is a spider or something in my home, I will put a bucket over it til hubby comes home. Sometimes I will be brave enough to vacuum it up though. Just the thought, I have the willies.

I am a proud mamma of a 7 year old 7'3" female red-tailed boa. She goes most places with me (including bars) and we have only been asked to leave the mall. In addition, I have had to teach most of my male friends not to be sqweemish about her.
