I saw this absolutely terrifying movie when I was really young. I remember there was a little boy who was beaten with, I believe, a meat tenderizer. And there was a woman bathing in blood. The boy was with her, and he was an adult there. He said something about how his father broke his ribs. Then there was a part with a horse standing in a room, and three blades fell from the ceiling and cut him into three pieces. That's all I remember, but that movie seriously scarred me for life.:o

It sounds like 'The Cell', with Jennifer Lopez, Vince Vaughn, Vincent D'Onofrio (the boy/man). VDO also had women in tanks of water, and did nasty things to them.

That movie was called "The Cell". The boy was actually beaten with an iron that was still on. His father also broke three of his ribs and his jaw after he had a seisure while being baptized. The horse was cut into well more than three pieces. The messed up thing was that it was still alive after it was over. Decent film. Wasn't as scary as I thought it would be.

Like everyone else. The Cell. A great Movie

Plot: Catharine Deane is a psychotherapist who is part of a revolutionary new treatment which allows her mind to literally enter the mind of her patients. Her experience in this method takes an unexpected turn when an FBI agent comes to ask for a desperate favour. They had just tracked down a notorious serial killer, Carl Stargher, whose MO is to abduct women one at a time and place them in a secret area where they are kept for about 40 hours until they are slowly drowned. Unfortunately, the killer has fallen into an irreversible coma which means he cannot confess where he has taken his latest victim before she dies. Now, Catherine Deane must race against time to explore the twisted mind of the killer to get the information she needs, but Stargher's damaged personality poses dangers that threaten to overwhelm her.

Oh yes, "The Cell", if you think the imagery in this movie is effective, try almost any Ken Russell film, but especially "Lair of the White Worm" and "Crimes of Passion"...

Would people who ask about movies they saw as children please give an approximate year they SAW the movie? Im 46 and Im thinking about miives in the 50s which cut people in thirds. It just helps narrow down the possibilities, savvy?
