buyin direct is cheaper most of the time...
buy property near the mrt or city...it will seldom depreciate in value... and much easier to sell in future...
if u r local or pr, take note tat once u purchase private property, u r not entitled to purchase a hdb unless u sell off ur private property for more than13-15 mth( cant remember the exact mths...u can check on this website www.hdb.gov.sg) so in the meantime..u will b homeless..

If you have a agent, it is good as they a lot of lobangs. However after viewing the flat/Condo, you must recce at least once more yourself in case the previous owner have borrow money from loanshark. The other things to look out for is the facilities around the flat.
